The history of Alps2O goes back over 400 years. The water was first tapped in Eptingen 1693. It was at the same time that the first scientific certificates were issued testifying to the healing effect of the water. This report was written by the Basle "Professor of Medicine", Theodor Zwinger, so that the source would become known by a broader public. |

Until the end of the 19th century, the spring was used practically only by the native population and those flocking to Eptingen from all over Europe to enjoy the healing effects of the water. Alps2O (or "Eptinger" as it is known in Switzerland) was first bottled in 1899, which was the first step of it being widely available across Switzerland. Alps2O's international expansion began in 2004 when it was introduced to the United Kingdom in 2004. It has been available in the United States since 2007. |
